“When I vis­it kids at schools, they often ask me to write books about their favorite top­ics. I bet you won’t be sur­prised to hear that more stu­dents have request­ed a book about dol­phins than any oth­er top­ic, so I couldn’t believe my luck when my edi­tor sug­gest­ed the topic.

“This book includes a lot of fun infor­ma­tion about dol­phin acro­bat­ics. I was lucky enough to see many of their antics first hand while trav­el­ing in the Gala­pa­gos Islands. Every night, dol­phins would ride in our boat’s wake. And dur­ing the day, we often saw them feed­ing close by. Remem­ber­ing those expe­ri­ences helped me bring the mag­ic and mys­tery of dol­phins to life for young readers.”
