How Does a Seed Sprout?

“Plants are such amaz­ing organ­isms, and yet pub­lish­ers are some­times hes­i­tant to pub­lish books about them. So when edi­tor Kel­ly Smith asked me to write this title I knew it was a rare oppor­tu­ni­ty to show kids how inter­est­ing plants real­ly are and how impor­tant they are in our world. I worked hard to include engag­ing infor­ma­tion about moss­es, ferns, and conifers as well as more famil­iar flow­er­ing plants, and I explained how ani­mals both help and harm the veg­e­ta­tion around us.”
